Self-Introduction

I am an active surgeon. I would like to establish a perioperative management science that combines my clinical experience with nursing science and disseminate it to the world.

Message for Examinees

At our institution, we are committed to developing leaders who will not only excel in Hokkaido but also make a global impact. We encourage our students to go beyond the mere pursuit of professional qualifications. At the graduate school, we are confident that we can plan and execute research using our network, which includes not only the Department of Gastroenterological Surgery of Hokkaido University and over 30 affiliated hospitals, but also high-volume centers across the country. We encourage your participation if you are interested in clinical research.

Main research content

I have been a surgeon in the Department of Gastroenterological Surgery II at Hokkaido University Hospital. I have made it my profession to conduct research to solve questions in clinical practice. In particular, I specialize in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery and have focused my works as academic surgeon on malignant tumors in the perihilar region and pancreatic tumors, which are considered intractable in terms of surgical methods, perioperative management, postoperative prognosis, and all other aspects. In recent years, we have learned the limitations of single-center clinical research and are actively engaged in multicenter and international collaborative research.

It has been a long time since the importance of collaboration among multiple professions, including nursing, has been mentioned to improve the results of difficult surgeries. However, this has not yet established in the clinical practice of HPB surgery, with individuals still performing surgery in a trial-and-error situation. By combining the expertise of the Faculty of Health Sciences with our own extensive experience and networks, we can develop a perioperative management system that will improve surgical outcomes. I am seeking partners who can collaborate with us to address clinical practice challenges. In my clinical practice, I have been involved in HPB surgery, general surgical practice, and acute care surgery. I have incorporated my actual experience into my lectures and other courses. We are planning to open graduate school lectures with the above content as well.
