August 1876
Sapporo Agricultural College inaugurated.
September 1907
Sapporo Agricultural College becomes the Agricultural College of Tohoku Imperial University.
April 1918
The Agricultural College of Tohoku Imperial University transferred to the newly established Hokkaido Imperial University.
April 1919
The School of Medicine in Hokkaido Imperial University established.
September 1920
The Nursing Course established in preparation for the inauguration of the Medical Clinic attached to the School of Medicine.
April 1921
The Medical Clinic attached to the School of Medicine established.
October 1921
The Midwives’ Training Institute established in the Medical Clinic.
June 1945
The Nursing Course renamed the Women’s College of Health and Welfare.
October 1947
Hokkaido Imperial University renamed Hokkaido University.
April 1951
The Women’s College of Health and Welfare renamed the School of Nursing attached to the School of Medicine in Hokkaido University (abolished in 1983).

The Midwives’ Training Institute renamed the School of Midwifery attached to the School of Medicine (abolished in 1985).
April 1956
The School of Medicine adds the Medical X-Ray Technicians’ School (later the Technical School of Clinical Radiology, abolished in 1986).

The School of Medicine adds the Sanitary Inspection Technicians’ School (later the Technical School of Clinical Laboratory Science, abolished in 1984).

The Physical Therapy Department and the Occupational Therapy Department established in the College of Medical Technology.

The Post-Certificate School of Midwifery established in the College of Medical Technology.

The Department of Health Sciences established in the School of Medicine with the divisions of Nursing, Radiological Technology, Medical Technology, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy.

The Department of Health Sciences in the School of Medicine welcomes its first undergraduate students.
March 2008
The Department of Health Sciences in the School of Medicine celebrates its first bachelor’s alumni.

The Faculty of Health Sciences established with the Health Sciences Research Division subdivided into departments consisting of Fundamental Nursing, Comprehensive Development Nursing, Biomedical Science and Engineering, Medical Laboratory Science, Rehabilitation Science and Health Sciences and Technology.
The Graduate School of Health Sciences established with the Health Sciences Division which offers two master’s degree programs (Nursing/Health Sciences). The Graduate School also welcomes its first graduate students.

The endowed chair of Food and Nutrition for Health Promotion added.

The Health Sciences Division in the Graduate School of Health Sciences celebrates its first master’s alumni.

The Health Sciences Division in the Graduate School of Health Sciences celebrates its first doctoral alumni.

Inaugural FHS International Conference (FHS2013)held by the host, the Graduate School of Health Sciences (held biennially thereafter).

The Research Building E’s construction completed and the existing Building A, B, C and D renovated in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
