Professor Ikeda Designated as ISEE Fellow
Atsuko Ikeda, professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences, has been honoured as an International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) Fellow at the ISEE 2026 annual conference in München (Germany).
The ISEE Fellow designation provides recognition of long-term ISEE members in their achievements as environmental epidemiologists impacting research, training, community engagement, translation or policy.
ISEE has increasingly valued not only Ikeda’s research projects in environmental epidemiology and activities at one of the WHO Collaborating Centres located at Hokkaido University, but also her contributions as a member of the ISEE Strategic Committee, an ISEE-Asia and Western Pacific Chapter Secretary/Treasurer and a peer reviewer for presentation abstracts submitted to the ISEE annual conferences.
Along with being named as one of three new faces added this year to the existing 29 ISEE Fellows, Ikeda is among the first Japanese scientists to receive the Fellow designation within the ISEE Fellowship.
Conferred: 2nd September 2026
