International Directions in APN Education in the Era of AI and Digital Transformation:Insights from the NONPF × IAPEN Global Webinar
On June 4, 2026, the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) and the International Advanced Practice Educators Network (IAPEN) jointly hosted the international webinar “Global Landscape of Advanced Practice Education.”
The event brought together experts from more than ten countries across North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania to discuss global trends, challenges, and future directions in Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) education and regulation.
From Japan, Assistant Professor Noriyo Colley of Hokkaido University participated as a panelist and contributed perspectives on Japan’s current situation. Her remarks highlighted topics such as the use of digital transformation (DX) to optimize healthcare service allocation and the importance of involving Nurse Practitioners in system design—offering viewpoints that complemented and enriched the international discussion.
