Historic first-ever Japanese winner of the John D. Boice Jr. Young Investigator Award
The National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP) has honored Dr. Hisanori Fukunaga, one of our faculty, with the John D. Boice Jr Young Investigator Award for his research in the fields of radiation protection and measurements. He is the sixth recipient in the history of the award, and the first-ever winner from Japan.
Dr. Fukunaga is a physician-scientist specializing in radiation biology, health physics, and environmental and occupational health sciences. His research focuses on tissue reactions following irradiation, radiotherapy-related infertility, and hereditary effects of radiation.
